The job responsibilities of both employer and employee are to keep residents in their care safe from harm. This course reviews preventing, protecting, and reporting all incidents of resident abuse, neglect, misappropriation of resident property, and financial exploitation. 

The learner will be able to:

• Explain definitions of abuse, neglect, misappropriation, injury of unknown sources, and financial exploitation
• Describe what to do if resident abuse, neglect, misappropriation, or financial exploitation is suspected
• Name whom to report an incident to if you suspect resident abuse, neglect, misappropriation, or financial exploitation
• Recognize signs of abuse and neglect in adults with developmental disabilities
