The purpose of this course is to provide specific information about some of the unique physical and mental health problems that may occur in adults with developmental disabilities and approaches to care that will best ensure compliance and cooperation.

The learner will be able to:

• Define developmental disabilities.
• Discuss health conditions that commonly occur in adults with developmental disabilities, including mental health conditions.
• Recognize the importance of providing quality care to adults with disabilities.
