This course highlights basic resident rights often identified as limited or restricted for residents supported in assisted living. In addition, guidance is provided on how to support persons with challenging behaviors without violating or restricting their rights. 

The learner will be able to:

• Understand specific resident rights guaranteed to persons residing in assisted living
• Realize common behaviors and what the person is trying to communicate
• Develop positive support strategies when managing resident behaviors
• Understand how to protect and secure resident information
