This course identifies the proper administration of insulin and blood glucose monitoring for diabetic residents.  It also includes a brief overview of what diabetes is and how caregivers can assist with specific needs. This course does not replace RN delegation.

The learner will be able to:

• Recognize diabetic emergencies and steps to take.
• State the importance of blood glucose monitoring.
• Explain the steps in administering insulin.
