Description
Caring for a resident with dementia presents many challenges for caregivers. People with dementia have a progressive brain disorder that makes it more and more difficult for them to remember things, think, communicate with others, or take care of themselves. This course will provide caregivers with strategies to better assist during challenging behaviors.
Learner Objectives
The learner will be able to:
- Identify and recognize common challenging behaviors seen in residents and their triggers.
- Explore scenarios with alternatives to care to better assist residents with challenging behaviors.
- Describe wandering and how to manage dangerous situations.
